Kazakhstan's revenue from passenger transportation via road decreases

Kazakhstan’s revenue from transportation of cargo, luggage and cargo luggage via road transport amounted to 95.7 billion tenge ($228.9 million) over first seven months of 2020, which is 4.9 percent more than during the same period of 2019, Trend reports with reference to Kazakhstan’s Statistics Committee.

Revenue from transportation of cargo, luggage and cargo luggage via road transport in July 2020 amounted to 15.4 billion tenge ($36.8 million), which is 0.3 percent less than during the same period of 2019.

The volume of cargo, luggage and cargo luggage transported via road transport during the reporting period amounted to 1.7 billion tons, which is 8.7 percent less compared to the same period of last year (303.5 million tons in July 2020, down by 8.3 percent year-on-year).

Cargo turnover amounted to 83.8 billion ton-kilometers which is 14.1 percent less than during the same period of last year (14.3 billion in July 2020, decrease of 15.9 percent).

In turn, Kazakhstan’s revenue from passenger transportation amounted to 37.6 billion tenge ($89.9 million) over the reporting period of 2020, which is 39.4 percent less than during the same period of last year. July’s revenue from passenger transportation was 3.5 billion tenge ($8.5 million), which is 58.7 percent less than in July 2019.

Number of transported passengers amounted to 6.7 billion people, which is 50.2 percent less than during the same period of last year (247.4 million passengers in July 2020, down by 87.9 percent).

The passenger turnover amounted to 71.9 billion passenger kilometers which compared to the same period of last year is a decrease by 54 percent. The passenger turnover in July was 2.8 billion (87.5 percent decrease year-on-year).
