Uzbekistan, Tajikistan agree on resumption of flights

Uzbekistan and Tajikistan have agreed to resume flights between Tashkent and Dushanbe, Trend reports with reference to Asia-Plus information agency in Tajikistan.

To date, the exact date of the opening of air traffic and the schedule of the frequency of flights between the capitals of the two states are being coordinated.

Earlier, the ministries and departments of Tajikistan and representatives of Uzbekistan government discussed the opening of borders between the two states and the resumption of flights between Tashkent and Dushanbe, which closed on March 16 due to the coronavirus pandemic.

In addition, Uzbekistan, along with other neighboring countries, has closed its land borders with Tajikistan since March 16.

The decision to suspend flights to Dushanbe and some other cities in the world was made by the government of Uzbekistan due to the fact that on March 15, the first four cases of charging with coronavirus were detected in the country.

All border crossing points in Uzbekistan have been opened for road, rail, and air transport since October 1.
