BAKU, Azerbaijan, Oct. 28

By Klavdiya Romakayeva - Trend:

The State Aviation Administration of Ukraine allowed Wind RoseUkrainian airlines to open direct flights from Kiev to the capital of Uzbekistan, Tashkent, Trend reports referring to avianews.com.

The airline will be able to operate Kyiv-Tashkent flights twice a week on a charter basis. The granted right is valid until March 27, 2021.

At the moment, there are no direct regular flights between Ukraine and Uzbekistan. They were interrupted in 2015 due to a conflict situation between the designated air carriers Uzbekistan Airways and Ukraine International Airlines.

The Uzbek side demanded to reduce the quota of flights for each of the parties from two to one flight per week, with which Ukraine International Airlines did not agree.

The Ukrainian air carrier called a quota of two flights a week the minimum acceptable standard for the operation of the Kyiv-Tashkent route.

Earlier, the Ukrainian air carrier SkyUp Airlines requested permission to fly to Uzbekistan. The low-cost airline of Ukraine planned to fly in the direction Kyiv-Tashkent twice a week. The application indicated a request to issue the rights starting from July 1, 2020, and for an unlimited period.
