SaryarkaAvtoProm plant in Kostanay region of Kazakhstan sold 3,847 Hyundai and JAC vehicles to Uzbekistan this year, Trend reports with reference to Forbes.kz.

According to Vice-President of the Association of the Kazakh Auto Business Anar Makasheva, cars localized in Kazakhstan are in steady demand, and Hyundai's retail network is growing rapidly in Uzbekistan.

It was noted that Astana Motors, which represents eleven car brands on the Kazakhstan market, sold 244 Hyundai cars in Uzbekistan in 2019. The head of the company Nurlan Smagulov then admitted that the volume was still small, but called the market very promising.

“The government of Uzbekistan understands that the market needs to be opened, healthy competition is needed, consumers want to see other manufacturers as well,” Smagulov said.

Earlier it was reported that Kazakhstan will supply 766 JAC vehicles to Uzbekistan for $11.8 million.

Kazakhstan's SaryarkaAvtoProm received permission to manufacture Chinese JAC crossovers in 2015. Their price amounted to $13,500.

The number of passenger cars produced in Uzbekistan from January through November 2020 amounted to about 260,860, which is 2.93 percent higher compared to the same period in 2019.

Some 73,871 Cobalt cars (growth rates compared to the same period in 2019 amounted to 42.3 percent), 48,284 - Gentra (13.5 percent), 48.284 - Damas (0.7 percent) and 8,112 - Labo (21.6 percent) were produced in the automotive industry from January through October 2020.
