About 1.09 million tons of goods were exported and 1.4 million tons were imported through the Imam Khomeini port in the Khuzestan Province (southwestern Iran) in the 9th month of the current Iranian year (November 21 through December 20, 2020), Trend reports citing the statistics of the Iranian Ports and Maritime Organization (PMO).
According to the statistics, a total of 3.07 million tons of cargo were loaded and unloaded in the Imam Khomeini port over the 9th month. About 1.53 million tons of the cargo were loaded and 1.54 million tons were unloaded.
“As many as 435,000 tons of goods were loaded and 85,300 tons were unloaded for cabotage in the Imam Khomeini port during the reporting period,” the statistics said.
In addition, 2,870 tons of goods were loaded and 7,050 tons were unloaded for transshipment in this port within the 9th month. At the same time, 79 tons of products were loaded and 46,000 tons were unloaded for other purposes, the statistics said.
According to the statistics, 1.25 million tons of essential products, 234,000 tons of metal products, 348,000 tons of construction and mining materials, 254 tons of equipment, vehicles, and spare parts, 154,000 tons of chemicals were loaded and unloaded at the Imam Khomeini port in the ninth month.
“Moreover, 23,800 tons of leather products, clothing, wood materials, paper, and so on, 105,000 tons of container products, 950,000 tons of crude oil and oil products were loaded and unloaded at the port during the reporting period,” the statistics said.
A total of 9.13 million tons of cargo were loaded and unloaded in Iranian ports in the 9th month of the current Iranian year (November 21 through December 20, 2020). Of this, 5.5 million tons were loaded and 3.62 million tons were unloaded.
