The volume of maritime export of goods from Azerbaijan abroad amounted to 261,070 tons in 2020, which is 22.3 percent less compared to 2019, Trend reports citing the report of the country’s State Customs Committee (SCC).
According to the SCC, Azerbaijan's exports by sea in the mentioned period amounted to $91.3 million, a decrease of 41 percent year on year.
At the same time, overall maritime cargo movement operations in Azerbaijan made up $595.6 million, showing a decrease of 37 percent over the year.
In the past year, the volume of cargo transportation by sea amounted to 912,363 tons, which is almost 41 percent less than in 2019.
Meanwhile, import of goods by sea amounted to 651,300 tons, and in monetary terms - $504.4 million, down 36.3 percent year on year.
In 2020, Azerbaijan's cargo transportation was carried out in the total amount of almost $24.5 billion, which is 26.5 percent less than in 2019.
