Uzbekistan reveals regions with largest share of passenger transportation by cars

Tashkent became the leader in the list of Uzbekistan’s cities with the largest share of passenger transportation by cars in 2020, Trend reports referring to the press service of the State Statistics Committee of Uzbekistan.

According to the State Statistics Committee, the share of Tashkent passenger transportation by cars in 2020 amounted to 19.2 percent, while the Khorezm region is at the end of the list with an indicator of seven percent.

The second place in the list is taken by Andijan region with a share of 12.3 percent. It is followed by Tashekent region – 11.6 percent and Fergana region – 11.3 percent.

At the same time, the share of passenger transportation by cars for the reported period in Samarkand and Namangan region amounted to 7.9 and 7.8 percent respectively.

It is noted that the share of the total volume of passenger transportation by car in Uzbekistan in 2020 amounted to 99.1 percent.

Earlier it was reported that Uzbekistan’s cars import in 2020 exceeded their export by 2.2 times.

According to the State Statistics Committee, Uzbekistan in 2020 imported cars worth $475.1 million, while cars worth $208.7 million were exported during the reported period.

At the same time, it is reported that car exports in the country grew by 30 percent, and the growth of imports slowed down to seven percent.
