Uzbekistan to launch production of electric scooters in Fergana region

Uzbekistan plans to launch production of electric scooters on the territory of Kokand free economic zone in the Fergana region, Trend reports referring to Norma information and legal portal.

According to the presidential decree on additional measures for the further development of the electrical industry and increasing the competitiveness of domestic products, it is planned to launch four projects of electric scooters in 2021-2022.

It is reported that all projects are private and will be launched for the funds of the initiators. It was noted that three of them will be launched on the territory of Kokand free economic zone.

In particular, Bicycle Tranding Invest will invest $1.5 million in the production of 4,500 electric scooters per year. The launch is scheduled for November 2021.

Stroy Plast will invest $505,000 in the production of 1,500 electric scooters, 1,500 electric motorcycles and 500 bicycles per year. The launch is scheduled for March 2022.

Also, Velomax will invest $4 million in the production of 20,000 electric scooters per year. The launch is scheduled for December 2022.

Another project for the production of electric scooters is planned in Uchkupryk district of Fergana region. It is reported that Technoworld will invest $2.2 million in the production of 2,000 electric motors and scooters. The launch is scheduled for June 2022.
