Kazakhstan boosts revenues from air cargo transportation

Kazakhstan’s revenue from the transportation of cargo, luggage, and cargo luggage via air transport amounted to 4.1 billion tenge ($9.5 million) from January through March 2021, which is 98.8 percent more than during the same period of 2020, Trend reports with reference to Kazakhstan’s Statistics Committee.

Revenue from the transportation of cargo, luggage, and cargo luggage via air transport in Mar. 2021 amounted to 976.7 million tenge ($2.2 million), which is 38 percent more than during the same period of 2020.

The volume of cargo, luggage and cargo luggage transported via air transport during the reporting period amounted to 6,670 tons, which is 22 percent more compared to the same period of last year (2,600 tons in Mar. 2021, increase by 73.2 percent year-on-year).

Cargo turnover amounted to 13.8 million ton-kilometers which is 11.1 percent less than during the same period of last year (1.1 million in Mar. 2021, an increase of 72.5 percent).

In turn, Kazakhstan’s revenue from passenger transportation amounted to 57.5 billion tenge ($132.8 million) from Jan. through Mar. 2021, which 8.7 percent less than during the same period of last year. March’s revenue from passenger transportation was 23.3 billion tenge ($53.9 million), which is 82.4 percent more than in Mar. 2020.

The number of transported passengers amounted to 1.8 million people, which is 11.5 percent more than during the same period of last year (727,700 passengers in Mar. 2021, up by 84.4 percent).

The passenger turnover amounted to 2.7 billion passenger kilometers which compared to the same period of last year is a decrease of 11.1 percent. March’s passenger turnover was 1.1 billion (72.5 percent more year-on-year).
