Activities in Iran’s Qeshm port soar

The volume of cargo loaded and unloaded in the Qeshm port of the Hormozgan Province (southern Iran) increased by 90 percent in the first month of the current Iranian year (March 21 through April 20, 2021), compared to the same month last Iranian year, Trend reports citing the statistics of Iranian Ports and Maritime Organization (PMO).

According to the statistics, a total of 416,000 tons of cargo were loaded and unloaded in the Qeshm port in the first month. Of this, 203,000 tons were loaded and 213,000 tons to unloaded. While in the same month last Iranian year, 218,000 tons of cargo were loaded and unloaded in the port.

"Within the 1st month, about 1,700 tons of cargo were imported through this port," the statistics said.

Furthermore, 203,000 tons of cargo were loaded and 212,000 tons were unloaded in the port for cabotage during the first month, the statistics said.

According to the statistics, 403,000 tons of small and assorted products and 13,500 tons of crude oil and oil products were loaded and unloaded in the Qeshm port over the 1st month of the current Iranian year.

As reported, more than 11 million tons of cargo were loaded and unloaded in Iranian ports in the first month of the current Iranian year. This is an increase of 14.4 percent compared to the same month last Iranian year.
