The volume of cargo loaded and unloaded in Iranian ports increased by 17.5 percent in the second month of the current Iranian year (April 21 through May 21, 2021), compared to the same month last Iranian year, Trend reports the statistics of Iranian Ports and Maritime Organization (PMO).

According to the statistics, about 12.6 million tons of cargo were loaded and unloaded in Iranian ports during the 2nd month. Of this, 7.12 million tons were loaded and 5.47 million tons were unloaded.

“About 4.66 million tons of crude oil and oil products were loaded and unloaded in Iranian ports in the second month, which is an increase of 37.5 percent, compared to the same month last Iranian year. So, 2.86 million tons of crude oil and oil products were loaded, 1.79 million tons were unloaded. The loaded products increased by 32 percent, while the unloaded products - by 47.5 percent compared to the same month last Iranian year,” the statistics said.

In addition, 2.3 million tons of essential products were loaded and unloaded in Iranian ports within the mentioned month, which is a decrease of 11.9 percent compared to the same month last Iranian year. Of this, 2.12 million tons were unloaded and 185,000 tons are loaded, the statistics.

According to the statistics, about 815,000 tons of metal products were loaded and unloaded in Iranian ports over the second month, which is an increase of 132.9 percent, compared to the same month last Iranian year. Of this, 53,000 tons were unloaded and about 762,000 tons were loaded.

“At the same time, about 1.89 million tons of construction and mining materials were loaded and unloaded in Iranian ports during the reporting month. This is an increase of 21.6 percent, compared to the same month last Iranian year. Of this, 112,000 tons were unloaded and 1.77 million tons were loaded,” the statistics said.

Within the second month, 38,500 tons of equipment, vehicles and spare parts were loaded and unloaded in Iranian ports, which is an increase of 67 percent, compared to the same month last Iranian year. Of this, 32,200 tons were unloaded and 6,280 tons were loaded, the statistics said.

According to the statistics, 360,000 tons of chemicals were loaded and unloaded in Iranian ports in the second month of the current Iranian year. This is a decrease of 31.1 percent, compared to the same month last Iranian year. Of this, 100,000 tons were unloaded and about 260,000 tons were loaded.

“Furthermore, 100,000 tons of leather, clothing, fiber, paper and wood were loaded and unloaded in Iranian ports over the 2nd month, that is an increase of 10.7 percent, compared to the same month last Iranian year. So, 98,400 tons of goods were unloaded and 1,940 tons were loaded,” the report said.

As well as, 439,000 tons of small and assorted products were loaded and unloaded in the Iranian period during the same month. The loaded-unloaded products decreased by 4.2 percent, compared to the same month last Iranian year. Of this, about 225,000 tons were unloaded and 214,000 tons were loaded, the statistics said.

According to the statistics, 1.97 million tons of container products were loaded and unloaded in Iranian ports in the second month, which is an increase of 15.8 percent, compared to the same month last Iranian year. About 932,000 tons of products were unloaded and 1.04 million tons were loaded.

“Moreover, about 6.38 million tons of goods were exported and 2.93 million tons were imported through Iranian ports in the second month of the current Iranian year,” the statistics said.

Also, 154,000 tons of cargo were loaded and 340,000 tons were unloaded in Iranian ports for transit within the mentioned month, the statistics said.

According to the statistics, 472,000 tons of cargo were loaded and 2.01 million tons were unloaded in Iranian ports for cabotage in the 2nd month. Also, 103,000 tons of cargo were loaded and 114,000 tons were unloaded for transshipment.

“Over the seconds month, about 7,230 tons of cargo were loaded and 69,300 tons were unloaded in Iranian ports for other purposes,” the statistics said.
