Cargo movements in Iran’s Qeshm port decline

The volume of cargo loaded and unloaded in the Qeshm port of the Hormozgan Province (southern Iran) decreased by 0.4 percent in the second month of the current Iranian year (April 21 through May 21, 2021), compared to the first month (March 21 through April 20, 2021), Trend reports citing the statistics of Iranian Port and Maritime Organization (PMO).

According to the statistics, a total of 395,000 tons of cargo were loaded and unloaded in this port during the reporting month. Of this, 183,000 tons were loaded and 212,000 tons were unloaded.

“At the same time, 200 tons of cargo were exported and 1,010 tons were imported through the Qeshm port in the second month,” the statistics said.

Over the 2nd month, 183,000 tons of cargo were loaded and 210,000 tons were unloaded in the port for cabotage, the statistics said.

According to the statistics, 4,100 tons of essential products, 374,000 tons of small and assorted products, 687 tons of container products and 16,000 tons of crude oil and oil products were loaded and unloaded in the Qeshm port within the second month of the current Iranian year.

As reported, about 12.6 million tons of cargo were loaded and unloaded in Iranian ports in the second month of the current Iranian year. Of this, 7.12 million tons were loaded and 5.47 million tons were unloaded. This is an increase of 17.5 percent compared to the same month last Iranian year.
