Iran launches new railway lines in four provinces

BAKU, Azerbaijan, July 29

The second railway line in Iran's Zanjan-Qazvin and Isfahan provinces has been launched today on July 29, 2021, Deputy Minister for Roads and Urban Development, and the CEO of the Islamic Republic of Iran Railways (RAI) Saeed Rasouli said, Trend reports citing IRNA.

He made the remark during an event dedicated to the launch of several roads and railway lines in Iran today on July 29, 2021.

According to Rasouli, the length of the Zanjan-Qazvin 2nd railway line is 106 km, and 15.9 trillion rials (about $ 379 million) has been spent on this railway line.

“In addition, the Bafq-Zarrin Shahr railway line, from Bafq city in Yazd Province to Zarrin Shahr city in Isfahan Province was put into operation. The 90-km part of this railway line was put into operation in the last year, while 182-km part was put into operation today,” the deputy minister noted.

Today on July 29, 2021, an event dedicated to the the launch of road and railway lines at a cost of 109 trillion rials (about $2.6 billion) in 7 provinces of Iran (Yazd, Fars, Zanjan, Qazvin, Isfahan, Alborz and Mazandaran) was held.

The event was attended by Iranian President Hassan Rouhani, Iranian Minister of Roads and Urban Development Mohammad Eslami and other officials in online format.
