Cargo transportation by air in Azerbaijan amounted to 273,800 tons from January through July 2021, which is 19.6 percent more compared to the same period of 2020, Trend reports citing a report of the State Statistics Committee.
At the same time, passenger traffic by air in the country amounted to 513,600 people, having grown by 10.8 percent over the year, the report said.
Reportedly, 99.2 percent of transportation fell on the share of state, and 0.8 percent - private enterprises.
“In the first 7 months of 2021, cargo transportation by all types of transport in Azerbaijan amounted to 107.9 million tons, which is 3 percent less compared to the same period of 2020. Passenger transportation amounted to 650.4 million people, a decrease of 15.2 percent on annual basis. Air transport accounted for 0.3 percent of all cargo transportation,” the report said.
