The customs duty and utilization duty on the import of trucks have been zeroed in Uzbekistan until January 1, 2025, Trend reports with reference to the National News Agency of Uzbekistan.
According to the presidential decree, in order to further update and modernize the vehicle fleet of business entities engaged in the transportation of goods by road and create a favorable competitive environment for domestic freight carriers, additional measures are being introduced to support them.
In particular, until January 1, 2025, zero rates of customs duties, recycling fees and vehicle fees for the purchase of vehicles will be applied when importing into Uzbekistan the following vehicles intended for the carriage of goods, from the moment of release of which no more than seven years have passed:
vehicles except for dump trucks, that meet the requirements of Euro-5 environmental class and higher;
trailers and semitrailers.
Also, until January 1, 2025, the following vehicles manufactured in the countries of the European Union are exempted from compulsory certification when imported into Uzbekistan, from the moment of release of which no more than seven years have passed:
cargo and special vehicles that meet the requirements of Euro-5 environmental class and higher;
trailers and semi-trailers used for the carriage of goods by road.
