The value of goods transported by road in Azerbaijan totaled over $5.88 billion from January through August 2021, which is 22.8 percent or $1.09 billion more compared to the same period of 2020, Trend reports citing a report of the country’s State Customs Committee.
In the reporting period, the volume of cargo transportation by road exceeded 2.98 billion tons, having increased by 24.4 percent or 585,243 tons on annual basis, the report reads.
“The volume of export of goods by road increased by 34.1 percent or 295.8 million tons and amounted to 1.18 billion tons. The value of the exports amounted to $1.05 billion (an increase of 33.4 percent, or $263.6 million),” the committee said.
“At the same time, the volume of imports made up 1.79 million tons (an increase of 18.7 percent, or 283,388 tons). In monetary terms, the imports totaled over $4.82 billion (an increase of 20.7 percent, or $829.4 million),” said the report.
In the reporting period, Azerbaijan's trade turnover totaled over $20.2 billion, including exports - $12.9 billion, imports - $7.3 billion.
