Iran establishes container shipping route from Chabahar port to Indian ports

TEHRAN, Iran, Jan. 20

The acting deputy for port and economic affairs of the Ports and Maritime Organization of Iran announced the establishment of a container shipping line between Iran's southeastern port of Chabahar and western Indian ports of Nava Seiva and Kandla, Trend reports citing IRNA.

The Shipping line between the port of Chabahar and the western ports of India has been established by the Islamic Republic of Iran Shipping Lines (IRISL), said Jalil Eslami the Acting Deputy Head of PMO.

The official said the Ports and Maritime Organization will provide tariff incentives and cost reductions for container ships.

He pointed out that the line was set up by the arrival of the first container ship to Shahid Beheshti port of Chabahar on February 16.
