BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 21. Azerbaijan imported 28,681 cars in first five months 2022, which is 8.1 percent or 2,539 units less than in the same period last year, State Customs Committee told Trend.
According to the committee, bulk of imports fell on cars and other motor vehicles for the transport of passengers - 26,408, which is 8.4 percent, or 2,432 units less than in first five months 2021.
Therefore, 292 minibuses, 130 electric vehicles and 5,082 hybrid vehicles were imported. The import of hybrid cars increased by 36.6 percent or 1,363 units compared to January through May 2021. Azerbaijan imported 3,719 hybrid cars from January through May 2021.
Number of trucks imported by Azerbaijan decreased by 19.03 percent (to 1,851) in reporting period of 2022.
Number of imported trucks amounted to 2,280 from January through May 2021.
Azerbaijan imported cars worth more than $368.4 million from January through May 2022, which is 16.1 percent or $51.3 million more than in the same period in 2021.
