Activities at Iran’s Qeshm Port increase

BAKU, Azerbaijan, August 20. The volume of cargo loaded and unloaded in the Qeshm port of the Hormozgan Province (southern Iran) increased by 27 percent, in the 4th month of the current Iranian year (June 22 through July 22, 2022), compared to the same month last Iranian year, Trend reports via the statistics of Iranian Ports and Maritime Organization (PMO).

According to the statistics, about 628,000 tons of cargo were loaded and unloaded in this port during the reporting month. Of this, about 327,000 tons were loaded and 301,000 tons were unloaded.

At the same time, about 102,000 tons of cargo were exported and 10,900 tons were imported through the Qeshm port in the 4th month.

Over the 4th month, 225,000 tons of cargo were loaded and 285,000 tons were unloaded in the port for cabotage.

Furthermore, 211 tons of cargo were loaded and 5,350 tons were unloaded at the port for other purposes.

According to the statistics, 144 tons of essential products, 65,400 tons of construction and mining materials, 84 tons of equipment, vehicles, and spare parts, 40 tons of chemicals, 82 tons of leather goods, clothing, fibers, paper and wood materials, 471,000 tons of small and assorted goods, 777 tons of container products, and 90,200 tons of crude oil and oil products were loaded and unloaded in the Qeshm port within the 4th month of the current Iranian year.

In general, about 12.3 million tons of cargo were loaded and unloaded in Iranian ports in the 4th month of the current Iranian year. Of this, 6.14 million tons were loaded and 6.19 million tons were unloaded. This is a decrease of 6.8 percent, compared to the same month last Iranian year.
