BAKU, Azerbaijan, September 15. The volume of cargo loaded and unloaded in the Bandar Lengeh port of the Hormozgan Province (southern Iran) increased by 72.5 percent in the 5th month of the current Iranian year (July 23 through August 22, 2022), compared to the same month last Iranian year, Trend reports via the statistics of Iranian Ports and Maritime Organization (PMO).
According to the statistics, about 228,000 tons of cargo were loaded and unloaded in this port in the 5th month. So, about 162,000 tons of cargo were loaded and 65,500 tons were unloaded.
About 154,000 tons of cargo were exported and 8,090 tons were imported through the Bandar Lengeh port over the 5th month.
"Furthermore, 1,800 tons of cargo were loaded and 29,400 tons were unloaded in this port for transit. Also, 6,590 tons of cargo were loaded and 752 tons were unloaded for cabotage during the reporting month," the statistics said.
Also, 27,200 tons of cargo were unloaded in this port for other purposes.
About 107,000 tons of essential products, 23 tons of metal products, 59,700 tons of construction and mining materials, 31,000 tons of equipment, vehicles and spare parts and 1,550 tons of chemicals were loaded and unloaded in the Bandar Lengeh port in the 5th month of the current Iranian year.
Moreover, 1,180 tons of leather goods, clothing, fibers, paper and wood materials, 65 tons of small and assorted products, 27,000 tons of container products and 110 tons of crude oil and related products were loaded and unloaded in the port within the mentioned month.
In general, about 12.5 million tons of cargo were loaded and unloaded in Iranian ports in the 5th month of the current Iranian year. Of this, about 6.4 million tons were loaded and about 6.1 million tons were unloaded. This is an increase of 6 percent compared to the same month last Iranian year.
