BAKU, Azerbaijan, December 5. The volume of cargo transported from Iran’s Mahirud border terminal in South Khorasan Province amounted to approximately 453,000 tons, during the first eight months of the current Iranian year (March 21 through November 21, 2022), Deputy Director of Iran's South Khorasan Transport Department Haji Safari said, Trend reports referring to Iranian Ministry of Roads and Urban Development.
According to Safari, the cargo was transported by 9,735 trucks.
“Of the mentioned volume, about 384,000 tons were exported through Mahirud border terminal. The exported goods were mainly oil products,” he added.
At the same time, 69,300 tons of cargo were transited through the border terminal for 8 months, the deputy director noted.
The official also said that a total of 35,830 passengers crossed via Mahirud border checkpoint in 8 months, which is an increase of 369 percent compared to the same period last Iranian year.
