BAKU, Azerbaijan, December 28. Cargo transit through the customs of Iran’s Gilan Province in the north of the country, increased by 65 percent, during the first nine months of the current Iranian year (March 21 through December 21, 2022), compared to the same period last Iranian year, Supervisor of Gilan Province Customs Office Sadegh Barzegar told IRNA, Trend reports.

Barzegar said that, about 915,000 tons of cargo were transited through the province’s customs in 9 months.

The official added that about 534,000 tons of cargo entered the country through the province’s customs for transit, while 381,000 tons left the country through the mentioned customs over nine months.

“In addition, 12,219 people entered the country and 6,537 people left the country through the customs and border checkpoints of Gilan Province, which increased by 32 percent and decreased by 31 percent, respectively, compared to the same period last Iranian year,” he said.
