BAKU, Azerbaijan, January 18. The volume of cargo loaded and unloaded in the Bandar Lengeh port of the Hormozgan Province (southern Iran), increased by 110 percent in the 9th month of the current Iranian year (November 22 through December 21, 2022), compared to the same month last Iranian year, Trend reports via the statistics of Iranian Ports and Maritime Organization (PMO).
Overall, approximately 290,000 tons of cargo were loaded and unloaded in this port in the 9th month. So, about 231,000 tons of cargo were loaded and 59,000 tons were unloaded.
In addition, more than 223,000 tons of cargo were exported and 4,890 tons were imported through the Bandar Lengeh port during the 9th month.
"Furthermore, 505 tons of cargo were loaded and 5,040 tons were unloaded in this port for transit, as well as 6,430 tons were loaded and 199 tons were unloaded for cabotage over the reporting month," the statistics said.
At the same time, 347 tons of cargo were loaded and about 26,600 tons were unloaded in this port for other purposes.
Some 99,700 tons of essential products, 16 tons of metal products, 133,000 tons of construction and mining materials, 29,400 tons of equipment, vehicles and spare parts and 706 tons of chemicals were loaded and unloaded in the Bandar Lengeh port in the 9th month of the current Iranian year.
Moreover, 89 tons of leather goods, clothing, fibers, paper and wood materials, 41 tons of small and assorted goods, 26,500 tons of container products, and 99 tons of crude oil and related products were loaded and unloaded in the port within the mentioned month.
In general, approximately 12 million tons of cargo were loaded and unloaded in Iranian ports in the 9th month of the current Iranian year. Of this, 6.6 million tons were loaded and 5.4 million tons were unloaded. This is a decrease of 8.1 percent compared to the same month last Iranian year.
