BAKU, Azerbaijan, January 26. The number of passengers transported through Iranian airports domestically increased by 20 percent, during the first nine months of the current Iranian year (March 21 through December 21, 2022), compared to the same period last Iranian year, as was reflected in the statistics of Iran Airports and Air Navigation Company (IAC), Trend reports.
According to the statistics, more than 24 million passengers were transported domestically through Iranian airports in 9 months.
Meanwhile, in the same period of last Iranian year, the figure stood at over 20 million.

Meanwhile, there are 54 civil active airports in Iran. Some 14 of them are international airports. An average of 30 million passengers are transported through Iranian airports per year.
