BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 19. The new building of the Razi border terminal in Iran’s West Azerbaijan Province on the border with Türkiye is planned to be officially put into use in the coming days, Trend reports.

In this regard, an event will be held in connection with the opening of the border terminal, and Iran's Road and Urban Development Minister Mehrdad Bazrpash will also participate in the event.

Along with the mentioned border terminal, 153 km long asphalt roads will be put into use in the West Azerbaijan Province.

Overall, 3 trillion rials (about $71.4 million) has been spent on the construction of the border terminal with an area of 8,000 square meters.

The Razi border terminal started operating as a temporary business facility in 2011. It is considered one of the most used border terminals of Iran in terms of passenger traffic over the past years.

As the working hours of the Razi border terminal are 24 hours, the crossing of passengers via this terminal has decreased from 3 hours to 15 minutes. In the near future, it is expected that transit and export of products will be started through this terminal.

The Razi border terminal is located at the Razi-Kapıköy customs point on the border between Iran and Türkiye.
