BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 19. The volume of cargo loaded and unloaded at Iran’s Bandar Lengeh port in the Hormozgan Province (southern Iran), increased by 58.1 percent, during the 2nd month of the current Iranian year (April 21 through May 21, 2023), compared to the same month in the last year, Trend reports.
Nearly 256,000 tons of cargo were loaded and unloaded at this port in the 2nd month. Of that, 192,000 tons of cargo were loaded and 63,600 tons were unloaded.
Also, about 190,000 tons of cargo were exported and 4,400 tons were imported through the Bandar Lengeh port for the reporting month.
In addition, 1,620 tons of cargo were loaded and about 35,700 tons were unloaded at this port for transit, as well as 207 tons were loaded and 22 tons were unloaded for cabotage over the 2nd month.
At the same time, 508 tons of cargo were loaded and 23,500 tons were unloaded at this port for other purposes.
Some 99,300 tons of essential products, 532 tons of metal products, about 101,000 tons of construction and mining materials, about 31,000 tons of equipment, vehicles and spare parts and 327 tons of chemicals were loaded and unloaded at the Bandar Lengeh port in the 2nd month of the current Iranian year.
Moreover, 508 tons of leather goods, clothing, fibers, paper and wood materials, 5 tons of small and assorted goods, about 23,500 tons of container products, and 98 tons of crude oil and related products were loaded and unloaded in the port within the mentioned month.
In total, 11.7 million tons of cargo were loaded and unloaded in Iranian ports in the 2nd month of the current Iranian year. Of this, 7.01 million tons were loaded and 4.66 million tons were unloaded. This is a decrease of 3.4 percent compared to the same month in the last Iranian year.
