International air travels in Iran surges

BAKU, Azerbaijan, January 27. More than 2.16 million passengers were transported to international directions via Iran’s airports in the first eight months of the current Iranian year (March 21 through November 21, 2023), Trend reports.

During eight months, international passenger transportation through Iran’s airports rose by 8.9 percent compared with the same period last Iranian year, as was reflected in the data from the Iran Airports and Air Navigation Company (IAC).

In the corresponding period as the previous Iranian year, over 1.99 million passengers were transported via Iran’s airports to international destinations.

There are 54 civilly active airports in Iran. Some 14 of them are international airports. On average, 30 million passengers are transported through Iranian airports per year.
