BAKU, Azerbaijan, September 25. Bulgaria proposes to participate in extending the Middle Corridor route, Vitalii Stoev, commercial representative of ULogistics company, told Trend.
ULogistics offers comprehensive transport and logistics solutions, specializing in goods transportation across Europe. Their key services include handling overhead loads, partial and full cargo shipments, express deliveries, and the safe transport of dangerous goods (ADR).
Stoev pointed out that the nation's geographical location gives it clear advantages.
"Bulgaria has strategic access to two seaports and borders five countries: Romania, Serbia, Türkiye, North Macedonia, and Greece. This allows the country to serve as a key transportation hub connecting different regions. Moreover, Bulgaria's developed infrastructure makes it an attractive participant in the corridor.
What will Bulgaria gain from participating in the project? Aside from the obvious economic benefits, the country can attract significant investments in its infrastructure. As for the prospects of the Middle Corridor itself, its importance is undeniable.
This route is becoming an alternative to the existing trade routes between China and Europe. Given the rapidly changing geopolitical situation, such an alternative provides added flexibility and reliability. In the future, the route may pass through different countries depending on goals and logistics needs, further increasing its relevance," he added.
To note, the Middle Corridor links container rail freight transportation networks of China and the European Union countries through Central Asia, the Caucasus, Türkiye, and Eastern Europe.
Multilateral multimodal transportation infrastructure connects ferry terminals of the Caspian and Black Seas with railway systems of China, Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Türkiye, Ukraine, and Poland.
The Middle Corridor facilitates increased cargo traffic from China to Türkiye, as well as to Europe and vice versa.
The route train running along this corridor delivers cargo from China to Europe in an average of 20–25 days, and this is one of the main advantages of this transport corridor.
