As a result of the third meeting of the Kazakh-Hungarian intergovernmental commission for economic cooperation in Astana, memorandums of cooperation in various areas were signed, the Kazakh Economic Development Ministry told Trend.
"A memorandum was signed between the National Scientific and Technological Holding Parasat and the Hungarian National Agency for Innovation, memorandum of cooperation between the Kazakh National Academy of Music and the Music Academy named after Franz Liszt and the Memorandum of Cooperation between Zoo of Almaty and Zoo of Budapest," the press service said.
The documents were signed by Minister of Economic Development and Trade of Kazakhstan Bakytzhan Sagintayev and Secretary - Head of the Hungarian Prime Minister's Office Mihály Varga.
Hungary on the right holds an important place in the East European direction of Kazakhstan's foreign policy and is one of the most active and promising economic partnera of Kazakhstan, in Eastern Europe.
According to the Kazakh side, the volume of foreign trade in 2011 between the two countries amounted to $ 271.8 million. The volume of trade with Hungary in the total foreign trade of Kazakhstan as of 2011 was 0.3 percent. Kazakhstan's exports to Hungary last year totaled $107.5 million.
However, in 2010-2011 there was an increase in imports from Hungary to Kazakhstan from $128.4 million to $ 164.3 million, i.e. by 28 percent.
