Samryk Kazyna National Welfare Fund (NWF) will change the approach to the work of boards of directors of national companies, included in NWF.
This was stated by the head of the NWF Umirzak Shukeyev on Wednesday at a meeting with the board of directors of national companies.
"We propose a new format of cooperation with the board of directors which provides for conducting hearings in the board in the format of the general meeting of shareholders as the sole shareholder," Shukeyev said.
According to him, currently the planning of investment companies is previously considered in the Committee of the Fund prior to their submission to the company's board of directors. In accordance with the introduced adjustments, the board of directors will cease to be a formal body that submit the decisions produced or offered by the fund. It is assumed that strategic issues will be discussed by the fund only after consideration by the board of directors.
"This will lead to improvement, and we will make appropriate changes to the rules of the Committee and the board of the fund," Shukeyev said
