Kazakhstan appoints new ambassador to Azerbaijan (UPDATE)

Through a presidential decree, Amangeldy Jumabaev has been appointed as Ambassador of Kazakhstan to Azerbaijan, Akorda reported.

Through a presidential decree, Amangeldy Jumabaev has been appointed as Ambassador of Kazakhstan to Azerbaijan, Akorda reported.

Earlier, Serik Primbetov served as Kazakh Ambassador to Azerbaijan.

Amangeldy Jumabaev was born in Almaty region on October 4, 1951. Previously, he served as Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs. He graduated from the Mechanics and Mathematics Faculty of the Kazakh State University named after Kirov (1974), economic department of Almaty Institute of National Economy (1978), the Academy of National Economy under the USSR Council of Ministers (1991), National Research Institute of Agricultural Economics (Moscow, 1982).

During the years of diplomatic service he was regularly published in Kazakh media and countries of residence.

Jumabaev is the author of "Kazakhstan - Ukraine: Between Past and Future" (2010) book.

He speaks English. His diplomatic service began in November 1996.
