Kazakh Prime Minister Serik Akhmetov met with his Kyrgyz counterpart Zhantoro Satybaldiyev in Bishkek on Friday, Kazakh Prime Minister's website reported.

The parties discussed a wide range of topics regarding the Kazakh-Kyrgyz cooperation in trade, economic, cultural and humanitarian spheres.

Kazakh Prime Minister noted the high level of economic cooperation between two counties and said that the bilateral trade volume exceeded $1 billion in 2012.

"We are ready for the big serious dialogue on a wide range of issues of our bilateral relations, first of all, it is the economic and trade cooperation. Our two countries have a high potential for the cooperation enhancement, however, we still have some problems to be resolved jointly," he said.

Serik Akhmetov expressed confidence that the meetings at the level of heads of governments would be an additional impetus for strengthening bilateral cooperation between Astana and Bishkek.

Kyrgyz Prime Minister in turn noted that Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan do not have many problems to be resolved and expressed confidence that the trade turnover between the two countries would continue to grow and exceed last year's result.
