Since the beginning of the year, non-raw materials exports of Kazakhstan have grown by a quarter, the Minister of Trade and Integration of Kazakhstan Bakhyt Sultanov said during the Government hour in the Senate of the Parliament of Kazakhstan, Trend reports citing Kazinform.
“There is a positive trend in the export of non-primary goods and services. At the end of nine months of 2021, the export of non-primary goods amounted to $14 billion, which is 25.6 percent more than the same period in 2020. Exports of services for the first half of the year, compared to the same period last year, increased by 2.4 percent and amounted to $2.7 billion. In general, the proactive export policy pursued by the Government contributes to the increase in non-raw materials exports. It includes about 20 financial and non-financial instruments,” Sultanov said.
The minister said that following the results of nine months of this year, concessional loans were provided to 74 exporters in the amount of 119 billion tenge ($275 million).
At the same time, the expenses were reimbursed to 158 exporters in the amount of 5.9 billion tenge ($13.6 million). Insurance support was provided to 69 exporters in the amount of 105 billion tenge ($242.7 million). More than 200 exporters were provided with consulting and analytical support.
According to Sultanov, the Ministry has launched an export acceleration program, which is based on an individual approach to each enterprise and its support from the idea to the delivery of products to new markets.
It is noted that to date, 35 food industry enterprises have taken part in the program, export contracts worth more than $70 million have been concluded. Some 100 domestic companies have been transferred to the international electronic platform Alibaba.com. Another 50 new companies will be phased out by the end of the year. The total sales of the program participants amounted to $72.5 million.
“In order to involve foreign agencies, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has developed country export programs to promote exports. Since the beginning of this year, activity has begun on the B2B meeting sites. Nine trade and economic missions were carried out in the countries of Central Asia, Azerbaijan and in the cities of Russia - Yekaterinburg and Kazan. More than 50 export contracts and agreements have been signed for a total amount of more than $150 million,” Sultanov said.
He also noted that it is expected that a comprehensive package of measures to promote non-raw materials will allow reaching $41 billion by 2025.
