BAKU, Azerbaijan, November 30. The French ALSTOM Transport SA will invest 50 million euros in Kazakhstan, ALSTOM CEO Henri Poupart-Lafarge said during the meeting with President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, Trend reports via the press service of the President of Kazakhstan.
The agreement was reached within the framework of the official visit of the Kazakh President to France.
The funding allocated by the French company will enable the implementation of several projects for the production, and maintenance of electric locomotives and equipment for rolling stock and railway transport infrastructure.
At the same time, the company will open service centers in Astana, Almaty, as well as in Jambyl and Turkestan regions.
ALSTOM CEO also noted that the company will provide training for 1,000 local specialists to achieve the implementation of the projects.
