BAKU, Azerbaijan, December 5. Loans to the economy from Kazakhstan's banking sector amounted to 21.5 trillion Kazakh tenge ($45.8 billion), Trend reports, citing the Agency for Regulation and Development of Financial Market.

According to the statistics, this figure increased by 16.1 percent, or 3 trillion Kazakh tenge ($6.4 billion), compared to the first 10 months of 2021.

At the same time, loans to the Kazakh economy only in October 2022 increased by 1.8 percent.

Bank credits denominated in national currency recorded a 2-percent increase, reaching 19.7 trillion Kazakh tenge ($42 billion), while foreign currency bank credits decreased by 0.7 percent to 1.8 trillion Kazakh tenge ($3.8 billion).

Meanwhile, individual credits amounted to 13.4 trillion Kazakh tenge ($28.5 billion), having increased by 2.5 percent in October, and 24.6 percent from January. Mortgage loans were the key growth driver, as this type of loan increased by 3.9 percent to 4.4 trillion Kazakh tenge ($9.3 billion) due to the implementation of preferential state mortgage programs.

Loans to legal entities amounted to 8.1 trillion Kazakh tenge ($17.2 billion), having increased by 0.8 percent in October. The growth of this indicator amounted to 4.4 percent since the start of the year.

In the sectoral breakdown, the main share of loans to legal entities falls on industry (34.4 percent), trade (21.3 percent), construction (7.5 percent), and transport (5.7 percent).
