BAKU, Azerbaijan, January 24. Some 14,000 workplaces will be created in Kazakhstan’s Abai region, Kuantyrov Alibek, Minister of National Economy, said, Trend reports, citing Kazakh media.
According to the minister, job opportunities will be created as a result of the Comprehensive Plan for the socio-economic development of the Abai region.
Some 1,465 kilometers of roads, as well as 11 bridges located in the region, will be reconstructed.
Additionally, Ayagoz - Bakhti railroad will be modernized, including the part extending into China. The government also plans to boost the transport potential of the region by constructing a transit and transport facility, as well as the airport terminal in the village of Urjar.
The minister projects that these measures will industrial output by 55.8 percent by 2027.
The development plan consists of 102 measures in 9 sectors. The implementation of the plan will be concluded in 2027 and will cost 1.9 trillion Kazakh tenge ($4.1 billion). The plan aims to improve the living conditions in the region, in addition to providing job opportunities for the local residents.
