BAKU, Azerbaijan, February 27. Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan continue efforts to carry out joint projects in several sectors, Trend reports, citing the Ministry of Trade and Integration of Kazakhstan.

The discussion was held in the framework of the meeting between the Minister of Trade and Integration of Kazakhstan Serik Zhumangarin, and the Deputy Prime Minister of Uzbekistan Zhamshid Khodjayev.

Both sides expressed their commitment to continue the construction of the multimodal logistics center in the Tashkent region. The feasibility study development agreement has already been signed, and the signing ceremony of an Agreement for the development of design estimates is scheduled to take place in early March. The first step of the project implementation entails investments in the region of $70 million.

Kazakh and Uzbek officials also revealed that another major project in the portfolio is the construction of the International Center for Industrial Cooperation "Central Asia" on the border of Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan.

The implementation of the abovementioned projects was agreed upon during the visit of Kazakh president Kassym-Jomart Tokayev to Uzbekistan in December 2022. Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan enjoy fruitful relations as both nations cooperate in several fields, including tourism, culture, energy, trade, and commerce.
