BAKU, Azerbaijan, February 28. Oil and gas condensate production volume of Kazakhstan’s KazMunayGas National Company in 2022 amounted to 22 million tons (456 kbopd), which is an increase of 1.7 percent year-on-year, Trend reports citing the company.

At the same time, production volume of natural and associated gas grew by 2 percent to 8.2 billion cubic meters.

According to the company, oil production at Tengiz field increased by 9.9 percent, amounting to 5.8 million tons (128 kbopd). Associated gas production at the field increased by 9.3 percent, totaling 3.2billion cubic meters.

Total oil production at Kashagan field decreased by 21.9 percent, amounting to 12.6 82 million tons, due to the planned overhaul at the offshore and onshore complexes in the middle of the reporting year, as well as the need for repair and restoration work after the discovery of a gas leak at the gas pre-selection unit (slug-catcher) in August.

"At the same time, KMG's share of oil production increased by 4.3 percent to 1.4 million tons (34 kbopd), while crude gas production increased by 7.3 percent and totaled 877 million cubic meters, due to an increase in KMG's share in the project from 8.44 percent to 16.88 percent from September 15, 2022, as the transaction for the repurchase of shares in the project from Samruk-Kazyna JSC was successfully completed," the report added.

The company noted that oil and condensate production at Karachaganak decreased by 2 percent - to about 1 million tons tons (22 kbopd) year-on-year.
