BAKU, Azerbaijan, March 7. Kazakhstan will carry out several projects aimed at modernization of infrastructure in Shymkent, including the modernization of 11 kilometers of roads, Trend reports, citing the press service of the Prime Minister.

The plans were revealed during the meeting chaired by Alikhan Smailov, the Prime Minister of Kazakhstan.

Additionally, the local municipality will carry out the reconstruction of nine kilometers of heating networks, as well as replace equipment at the existing heating station and construct new heating infrastructure in the city.

The government will also commission around 2,420 apartments to improve the living conditions of the population, in addition to making 1,000 apartments available via preferential loans.

The work on all the above-mentioned projects are expected to be finalized before the start of 2024.

Currently, Kazakhstan is carrying out numerous infrastructure projects in several parts of the country. The projects are a part of the strategy aimed at improving the living conditions of the local population, improving the critical infrastructure, and boosting the economic potential of the regions.
