BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 21. The start of construction and installation works at the Almaty CHP-2 is expected in August this year, Chairman of the Board of Samruk-Energy JSC Serik Tutebayev said at a meeting of the public council of the fund Samruk-Kazyna, Trend reports with reference to the Kazakh media.

According to him, in the second quarter of this year, a contractor will be determined for the supply of equipment, design and construction of a new gas station at the site of Almaty CHP-2.

Furthermore, Tutebayev noted that the winner of the tender will be determined in the second quarter of this year, and the start of construction and installation work is expected in August 2023.

Meanwhile, last summer it was reported that the complete transfer of Almaty CHPP-2 to gas is planned to be completed in 2026, and the cost of the work will cost 324 billion Kazakh tenge ($709.24 million).
