BAKU, Azerbaijan, May 24. Kazakhstan's foreign trade in processed goods demonstrated remarkable growth of 32 percent compared to the same period last year, reaching $18.8 billion, said Kazakhstan's Vice Minister of Trade and Integration Kairat Torebayev at Central Communication Service, Trend reports.
It was noted that non-commodity goods exports also saw a positive trend, reaching $5.9 billion and marking a 7.6 percent growth.
A number of goods demonstrated significant export expansion. Flour sales witnessed an impressive surge of 70.8 percent compared to the previous year, while petroleum products experienced a notable increase of 52.2 percent. Passenger cars saw a rise of 46 percent, sunflower oil exports grew by 19.9 percent, and fertilizer exports multiplied by 2.8 times.
Kazakhstan successfully reached global markets during the first three months of 2023, exporting its finished products to 106 countries worldwide. Moreover, compared to the same period last year, the country expanded its list of importing nations. New markets for Kazakh exports include the Syrian Arab Republic, Senegal, North Macedonia, Somalia, Guinea, and Cyprus.
Russia, China, Uzbekistan, Türkiye, the Netherlands, the UK, Japan, Kyrgyzstan, Georgia, and Afghanistan continue to be the primary buyers of processed goods from Kazakhstan, representing the country's longstanding trade partners.
Overall, Kazakhstan's processed goods exports reached a record-breaking level of $26.5 billion last year.
