ASTANA, Kazakhstan, July 5. The business activity showed improvement in June in Kazakhstan, despite supply chain challenges, with the index reaching 51.1 and remaining in positive territory, Director of the National Bank of Kazakhstan's Monetary Policy Department Rustem Orazalin said, Trend reports.
According to him, the service sector experienced a notable improvement, with the index rising from 51.1 in May to 52.2. The mining industry also witnessed a positive shift, with the index reaching 50.9 compared to 49.4. The mining industry saw a significant increase in the volume of inventory.
Business activity in the production and construction sectors experienced a slight decline in June, with the index dropping to 48.4 (from 49.9 in May) and 47.7 (from 49.2 in May) respectively, accompanied by a decrease in the volume of new orders.
The business activity index is an indicator that characterizes the state of the economy in the real sector and allows to study the dynamics of economic trends, and critical and turning points of the business cycle.
