BAKU, Azerbaijan, July 5. The US imported some 12.425 million barrels of crude from Kazakhstan in 2022.
According to the data obtained by Trend, this volume increased by 4 percent year-on-year from 11.937 million barrels supplied to the US in 2021.
As such, the largest batch of crude in the amount of 2.236 million barrels was supplied to the US from Kazakhstan in October 2022. This figure also surged fivefold, compared to the same period of 2021 (422,000 barrels).
The lowest volume accounted for December 2022 - 70,000 barrels. This is a drop of 89 percent, compared to November same year (644,000 barrels), and 19 times lower than in December 2021 (1.313 million barrels).
Moreover, the US did not import any crude from Kazakhstan in September 2022.
In 2022, the total volume of Kazakhstan's oil exports amounted to 64.3 million tons. More than 80 percent of the exports were transported via the Caspian Pipeline Consortium (CPC). Through this pipeline, the raw materials reach the port of Novorossiysk, where they are loaded onto oil tankers and delivered worldwide. Among the major consumers are Italy, the Netherlands, and France.
