ASTANA, Kazakhstan, August 10. President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev has viewed the implementation progress of the project by the PolyMetal International plc, Trend reports.
The total investment volume in the project for processing 300,000 tons of gold-bearing concentrate to obtain 15 tons of gold will amount to 347 billion tenge ($778 million).
Head of the Pavlodar region, Asain Baykhanov, stated that by 2024, the modernization of power units at GRES-1 and GRES-2 (state district power stations), as well as Power Plant No. 7 in the city of Aksu, will be completed.
Moreover, Baykhanov reported on the prospects of expanding food production. According to him, milk production and processing are being developed in the region; this year, 10 new modern farms are also being built with a total investment volume of over 30 billion tenge ($67.2 million).
Furthermore, the President was informed about projects to construct two plants in Ekibastuz.
Tokayev instructed to ensure the fulfillment of plans for socio-economic development and to continue efforts to attract potential investors.
