ASTANA, Kazakhstan, September 14. The share of non-cash transactions in Kazakhstan has reached 82 percent, said President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev in his speech at the 5th Consultative Meeting of the Heads of State of Central Asia, Trend reports.
As Tokayev noted, the unprecedented development of artificial intelligence poses the task of transforming the sphere of production, the labor market, and the services sector.
"Experts predict that in ten years, up to 70 percent of the world's products and services will be based on digital platform models. Therefore, systematic expansion of the area of application of digital solutions in our countries may become a priority," he said.
President of Kazakhstan added that, digital solutions are being actively introduced into all areas of the economy.
"For example, the share of non-cash transactions in our country has reached 82 percent, more than 90 percent of government services are provided electronically. The volume of exports from the domestic IT industry increased fivefold last year alone. We intend to increase this figure to $1 billion by 2026. Kazakhstan stands for the comprehensive strengthening of cooperation with its closest neighbors in this strategically important industry," he said.
As previously reported, Kazakhstan expects to increase the export of innovative information and communication technologies (ICT) to 84 billion Kazakh tenge ($186.99 million) in 2023.
This would mean a two-fold growth from the 42 billion Kazakh tenge ($93.49 million) achieved in 2022.
The growth of ICT sector exports is outlined in the new government plan, which will run through 2027.
