ASTANA, Kazakhstan, September 18. The trade turnover of the Republic of Kazakhstan with the countries of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) amounted to $16.5 billion from January through July 2023, which in nominal terms is 5.6 percent more than the same period last year, Trend reports.

Data from the Bureau of National Statistics of Kazakhstan shows that during the reporting period, exports of goods amounted to $6.38 billion (more by 32.3 percent) and imports to $10.1 billion (less by 6.3 percent).

In the total volume of foreign trade turnover of the Republic of Kazakhstan with the countries of the EAEU, the Russian Federation occupies 92 percent, Kyrgyzstan 4.6 percent, Belarus 3.3 percent, and Armenia 0.1 percent.

The largest share of exports to the EAEU countries is occupied by machinery, equipment, vehicles, instruments, and apparatus (28.5 percent), followed by products of the chemical and related industries (24.5 percent).

Imports from the EAEU countries are dominated by products of animal and plant origin, finished food products (19.9 percent), and metals and products made from them (19.1 percent).

The foreign trade turnover of Kazakhstan in January through June 2023 amounted to $67.2 billion. In nominal terms, trade turnover increased by 4.3 percent compared to January through June 2022. Exports: $38 billion (in nominal terms, 10.3 percent less), imports: $29.2 billion (32.2 percent more in nominal terms).
