ASTANA, Kazakhstan, September 20. Trade turnover between Kazakhstan and Tunisia from January through July 2023 increased by 49.6 percent and amounted to $40 million, Trend reports.

This was stated during a meeting between the Vice Minister of Trade and Integration of Kazakhstan, Kayrat Torebayev and the Minister of Agriculture, Water Resources, and Fishing of Tunisia, Abdelmonem Belati.

At the same time, Kazakh exports to Tunisia increased by 50.1 percent and amounted to $34.7 million.

As Kayrat Torebayev noted, Kazakhstan attaches great importance to the development of trade and economic cooperation with African countries.

In turn, Abdelmonem Belati spoke about the import and export potential of the Republic of Tunisia, as well as integration associations in Africa and the possibilities of transport and transit interaction.

At the end of the meeting, the parties agreed on further cooperation for the development of trade and economic relations, as well as the development of proposals for interaction in bilateral and multilateral formats.

Trade turnover between Kazakhstan and Tunisia in 2022 amounted to $65.4 million, which is 2.2 times higher than in 2021 ($30.1 million).
