ASTANA, Kazakhstan, September 25. Belarus plans to establish joint production of engines and axles for tractors with Kazakhstan, said Prime Minister of Belarus Roman Golovchenko, Trend reports.
As he noted, evidence of the transition of interaction between the two countries to a new level was the development of industrial cooperation, which is discussed so much, including within the framework of this forum.
"We have achieved the greatest success in the field of agricultural machinery. Currently, a project for the production of tractors in the Kostanay industrial zone is being successfully implemented. Since its launch in 2018, more than 3,000 tractors have already been produced. This year, we plan to complete the next stage of development on this site—to begin producing cabins for tractors. The plans include establishing joint production for engines and axles. Another product of Belarusian-Kazakh cooperation is presented at the exhibition: Essil combine harvesters, which are produced in Kazakhstan. They have been successfully working in the country’s fields for several years now," he said at the plenary session of the International Industrial Exhibition "INNOPROM Kazakhstan" in Astana.
According to him, trade turnover between Belarus and Kazakhstan amounted to almost $700 million from January through July 2023, which is 15 percent more than the same period last year.
"Back in 2021, trade turnover between the countries exceeded the $1 billion mark. In 2022, our trade turnover increased by more than 10 percent. Kazakhstan confidently ranks second among our trading partners in the CIS after the Russian Federation," he said.
The Prime Minister expressed Belarus’ readiness to share its competencies with its Kazakh friends.
