ASTANA, Kazakhstan, September 25. The increase in the number of joint ventures and large projects in industry, energy, mechanical engineering, agriculture and other sectors of the economy is reflected in the steady growth of foreign trade volumes of the countries participating in the Eurasian Economic Union, which amounted to 13 percent in the current half of the year, said President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, Trend reports.
As he noted, Kazakhstan and Russia maintain high dynamics of interaction in trade, investment and industrial spheres.
"Russian companies are consistently among the top five key investors in Kazakhstan. Today we are implementing 40 major projects worth $16.5 billion with Russia," he said, receiving the prime ministers of Russia, Belarus and Kyrgyzstan.
Speaking about relations with Belarus, Tokayev positively assessed the experience in the production of agricultural machinery and mechanical engineering, the total cost of projects is about $180 million.
The president of Kazakhstan also noted the progressive development of relations with the Kyrgyz Republic; positive dynamics in mutual trade remain.
"Over 7 months, trade between our countries increased by 13 percent compared to the corresponding period last year. The construction of the Industrial Trade and Logistics Complex on the Kazakh-Kyrgyz border opens up great prospects," he added.
Trade among the EAEU countries reached its peak in 2022, amounting, according to EDB analysts, to $80.6 billion, which is 10.3 percent more than in 2021.
