ASTANA, Kazakhstan, September 29. President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev has received Senior Vice President of Linde GmbH Oliver Pfann in Berlin, Trend reports.
During a conversation with Oliver Pfann, Senior Vice President of Linde GmbH for the Middle East, Europe, and Africa, issues of cooperation in the fields of gas and engineering technology were discussed.
Tokayev welcomed the signing of a Memorandum of Cooperation and Understanding between KazMunayGas (KMG, Kazakhstan's national oil and gas company) and Linde GmbH, which provides for the implementation of existing and future petrochemical projects in our country.
In accordance with previously reached agreements, Linde, based on its own technology, is developing an expanded basic design for ethane cracking and air separation plants (nitrogen, technical air) used in the production of polyethylene.
Tokayev was also informed of the company’s interest in acting as a co-investor in a urea production project with a capacity of 1.3 million tons per year.
Tokayev noted that this production is of great importance not only for the development of the petrochemical industry but also for agriculture, especially when growing rice and grain crops.
In turn, Oliver Pfann noted the prospects of the regional market and Linde’s readiness for long-term and productive cooperation in the implementation of innovative and sustainable solutions in the petrochemical and gas chemical industries of Kazakhstan.
